Mission to Michigan: Kennedy XV--Getting to the UP

Ethan has been asking for a family trip to the Upper Peninsula for about ten years now, and we made it happen in 2026! After Hannah's and my trip to Copper Harbor three years ago, I figured it was as good a time as any for our entire family to visit.  It must've been divine inspiration that I found the cabins I did because I don't remember the moment I found them or what research I did into it all (which is usually mountains of web pages and price comparisons).  We spent the week at Fresh Coast Cabins which has an official address of Copper Harbor, MI, but the camp really sits in between Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor along the northern coast of the Keweenaw Peninsula on Lake Superior. I love the cabins.  Each one is different, and they really just sit alone in the forest.  Copper Harbor feels much more like a Sedona situation or even a cruise ship dock--more people there with a "white trash" kind of feel (I probably shouldn't write that but I'm hoping it ...

Spain, Day Nine--Jerez de la Frontera and flying home

For years, Glo had a poster on her bedroom wall from the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre, or The Royal School of Equestrian Arts, a place that we visited a couple of times in Jerez de la Frontera while living in Germany.  Even though it was a good two hour drive from Ronda to Jerez, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to visit the AndalucĂ­an horses again. But first things first.  When we left our apartment and drove to meet the kids at the house, we walked in to a very sick Clarkie.  Super high fever.  Thankfully, Glo had packed Tylenol and within 30 minutes, he was feeling much better, but it's always scary to get sick in a foreign country. Before we entered the arena, it was a marvel to see all of the storks on the rooftops.  I mean, we've seen them in Poland and Morocco, but I didn't think I would see them in Spain as well.  Kind of a fun bird to add to my life list ;-) The horses were amazing as always.  They really hide their streng...
